Maddie

Maddie, just like Dustin & June, were rescued from the same cockfighting case where they urgently needed a safe place to call home or were otherwise risking euthanasia. Thanks to her determined rescuers, Maddie found her way out and into sanctuary life.

The age of Maddie is undetermined, and she is full of energy, sassy and dare we even say a little...bossy! A petite gal with a curious energy. Dustin and Maddie nearly immediately bonded with one another, after Dustin was likely never able to experience the company of another hen. Ever since they met they have been the couple that roosts together every night where Maddie nestles her body under his, and during the day they are frequently foraging together.

Maddie is a hen and wasn't caged to fight, but rather a breeding source which can take an incredible physical toll. Cockfighting is illegal in many states, but unfortunately that doesn't stop roosters from becoming victim. Thankfully Maddie and others were rescued from this case and we will not stop advocating against these inhumane, cruel operation
