Jack

sanctuary resident since May 2024

Early on in Jack's life within his first year, he faced living in neglect and watching his siblings pass away. He was the lone survivor of his family. After the day he was found & rescued, he went into a foster's home for a short while then traveled from Long Island to Vermont, where he moved into the sanctuary permanently. From the moment we met him we knew there was something special about him - he was so happy! Many animals that come from neglect or abandonment have learned to be fearful of humans, as you could probably imagine. Luckily, Jack has not let that stop him from living his life just the way he wants to.

From taking veggies from hands to stepping on feet for attention, Jack is the most human-friendly duck out of the bachelor flock and brings a smile to everyone's face. He's friends with Kyle & most days Cava, but they're still working on getting to know each other. Jack doesn't really have a favorite food because he'll eat just about anything you give him, and anything eaten in water makes it extra yummy! For the first time in his life Jack has finally found his freedom, friends & safety.
